Scotch 82 Analytics & Posting Guide
OVERVIEW OF SCOTCH 82 ANALYTICS & POSTING GUIDE
The need for a "Scotch 82 Analytics & Posting Guide" arises from a view within our year (Scotch College Class of 1982) that there will be a benefit derived from our Social Media Adventure together, as we head towards our next 10 Year Reunion, in 2022, but it is not intended to be an exhaustive blog that provides all the answers.
The initial need to start this Adventure was based on two Classmates feeling that a sense of inequality crept into our final/HSC year at Scotch College (in 1982), and this has been expressed to each Classmate who has so far been happy to support the notion that a greater sense of Equality can be achieved, once again.
So what is Equality, or more specifically "Scottish Egalitarianism", that the Scotch Family strives to maintain as a kind of Christian Value, based in our school's Scottish heritage links, and is this Equality something that Scotch College Students still strive to maintain today?

There is perhaps no greater Symbol or Flag the Scotch Family might rally around that represents this (Christian) Value that Scotch College Students and Old Boys hold so dear which can compare to the Scotch College Coat of Arms and Motto, that I can think of.
Above is a graphical summary, from the Scotch College website, that helps to identify some of the clues we might be looking for, when taking a closer look at Equality and/or Scotch Family Egalitarianism. I've also included as well a snippet from an article written by our 2011 School Captain, Charles Kemp, that includes Scottish Egalitarianism as a Value (the full article can be found here -> https://www.scotch.vic.edu.au/greatscot/2011mayGS/30a.htm).
Australians very much value the idea of mateship being an essential part of Egalitarianism, and so this is one aspect of Equality that we experienced as Scotch College Students, but did this aspect of our School Boy days suffer unnecessarily, during 1982, compared to other years, and if so, what might have been the cause(s)?
The competitive pressure of the Higher School Certificate outcomes for gaining a high enough entry score to University surely must be one such possible element of the equation worthy of consideration. Other elements might include school leadership office bearing duties, extra-curricular activities, individual subject study choices and study load options, future course asperations (like Medicine or Law), perceptions of family linage, girl-friend interests, undiagnosed mental health issues, Melbourne's weather (just kidding), and probably lots more.
To date, the antidote to these mateship related concerns has been to take a "Reconnect, Reconcile, and Reunite" approach, and by using our facebook page and groups as a Social Media platform that our Classmates have helped to piece together, by addressing Equal Admin Opportunities, as well as giving and receiving Pastoral Care and Support that might influence better friendship outcomes.
Therefore, there have been expectations that facebook, or perhaps some another Social Media platform, holds the key for identifying all the elements that need to be addressed towards the goal of improving friendships, that is also a OSCA Social Media Pastoral Care related goal, in the bigger scheme of things.
Since we started using facebook albums for Social Media links to each of our Classmates, in 2012, the Old Scotch College Association has also added Social Media links as an option for Old Boys, in the OSCAnet.com.au website Membership Section, to include Social Media platforms like facebook and linkedIn. This leads to the question of whether or not an increase in our Classmates Reconnecting and Reconciling or making new Friendships, is measurable or quantifiable, with the help of OSCAnet.com.au, as we look to Reunite in 2022?
Furthermore, where can we find meaningful Social Media Analytics produced by OSCA's to measure/track any improvement to the Scotch Family 'mateship index', that might reflect the benefit for our year too? Where can we find the statistics that might help justify any additional time and money investment in Scotch Family Social Media and Virtual Community platform building?
Where might we find an indication that there exists the necessary morale, will power, drive, desire, or sense of necessity, within OSCA's Strategic Planning Processes, to continue to improve friendship/mateship building capabilities, including within the current Principal Activities OSCA diligently goes about achieving each year, where Social Media is specifically being addressed?
Henceforth, will our Scotch 82 Analytics and anecdotal evidence be a good enough mateship index, if no other is available, until our 40 Year Reunion in 2022. What further milestones might be needed to achieve to a useful "Posting Guide"?
And finally, is there anyone in our year who OSCA is willing to endorse to produce a Scotch 82 Analytics and Posting Guide to improve our years mateship outcomes, and if not, do we just simply give up on the idea of using Social Media, all together?
Might the questions that Modern Old Boys also ask further contribute to the possible need for a 21st Century OSCA Constitution that focuses on bringing the Scotch Family closer together, in all it's varied friendship and Pastoral Care Activities, with greater Information sharing capabilities and where Year Group Committees take up some further important Equality creating Opportunities, also.
Lots of questions yet to be answered on our Social Media Adventure together, as we head towards our next 10 Year Reunion (The Big One), in 2022.

Lots of questions yet to be answered on our Social Media Adventure together, as we head towards our next 10 Year Reunion (The Big One), in 2022.
SCOTCH 82 SOCIAL MEDIA - SOME OF THE ANSWERS
Our Scotch 82 Classmates Expectations of what we can achieve as a year, using Social Media, has been mostly discussed/considered in our facebook Pages and Groups. OSCA have also started to produce ENewsletter email updates on Principal Activities that are going on throughout the year as well, that help to address mateship building, and Scotch Family welfare considerations.
Our years "Scotch 82 Analytics & Posting Guide" aims to help Classmates to take a look at Post Categories and (Like, Comment, Share) Results achieved, since 2012, and building to more Classmate directed input. This is achieved with the help of our Scotch End of Year Wraps that help to summarise Results along the lines of a Most Liked Post, for each calendar year.

This is achieved with the help of our Scotch End of Year Wraps that help to summarise Results along the lines of a Most Liked Post, for each calendar year.
Having a Posting Guide helps to meet Expectations as simply as possible, as well as provide a means for utilizing Volunteer's valuable time effectively. A Prototyping based methodology needs to take into account how OSCA and the Scotch Family is already using a virtual community to best achieve it's 2015 to 2020 Strategic Plan, in accordance to OSCA's Long Term Objectives, and Articles of Association.

Using our Resources effectively also means not duplicating efforts, unnecessarily rehashing Social Media Posts that are already accessible to our year, elsewhere (like on the Old Scotch Collegians' Assocition facebook page -> https://www.facebook.com/oldscotchboys/), and identifying whether or not there is a great enough awareness of OSCA's Clubs and Activities Social Media feeds.
SCOTCH 82 ANALYTICS - A NEED TO KEEP IT SIMPLE

Our year's Social Media Adventure together needs to be kept Simple enough that all our Classmates can get involved, yet at the same time be able to collate a form of Analytics that will provide some insights, and direction, as to how we might best go about applying the KISS principle.
Providing an Overview, above, is one way of applying the KISS principle, however, it is perhaps also important to be able to expand on an Overview with some more in-depth Scotch 82 Analytics, as we blog along.
For a deeper understanding of the why an Overview and Analytics might need to be arrived at, it's worth considering not only our Scotch 82 Social Media approach, but also how OSCA has begun to strategically plan and utilize Social Media Communications to improve it's Core Business.
OSCA's Core Business Activities are summarized each year in their Annual Reports, found on the OSCAnet.com.au website, here -> https://oscanet.com.au/#annualreports
Furthermore, those who are Volunteering to serve others in the Scotch Family need to be able to do so joyfully without getting overwhelmed by Expectations.
Therefore there is a need to Measure Results in line with what our Scotch Family are also Expecting to gain by promoting greater connecting abilities through Scotch Family Virtual Community opportunities.
Perhaps for our Classmates, this means updating their email address, via OSCAnet.com.au, to keep up-to-date on what might be of interest to them.
Our Scotch 82 Analytics (2018), consists of three Parts
Part A "Friendships", seeks to illustrate how Social Media is an important avenue of communication between Scotch 82 Classmates who, since 2012, have been demonstrating a willingness to Reconnect with Friends from our Scotch College School days, as well as Create new Friendship links.
Direct evidence for the number of Scotch 82 Social Media Friendship links being made available can be found in Scotch 82 facebook page albums. For individual graphical examples, please see these facebook albums: Scotch 82 facebook (a-m) -> https://www.facebook.com/pg/Scotch1982/photos/?tab=album&album_id=147678315363545 ; Scotch 82 facebook (n-z) -> https://www.facebook.com/pg/Scotch1982/photos/?tab=album&album_id=667954586669246 ; Scotch 82 LinkedIn -> https://www.facebook.com/pg/Scotch1982/photos/?tab=album&album_id=285043551627020, and mobile phone related links on Instagram, Scotch82insta -> https://www.instagram.com/scotch82insta/
OSCA's Past President, Doug Lording, can be quoted as expressing a willingness to understood and to encourage the prioritization of friendship building in OSCA's 2015 - 2020 Strategic Plan to include those who do not have a "strong link" to OSCA (and Scotch College).
Our year's Social Media Friendship numbers using Social Media platforms to reconnect, or remain in touch, with those who have strong links to the Scotch Family, can now also be demonstrated by considering OSCA's Young Old Boys having a Social Media presence, as well as understanding how important this form of communication is becoming.
Social Media Posts from Scotch 82 Classmates is considered one way OSCA and the Scotch Family might go about understanding some of the direct and indirect measurable influences on how OSCA's core business would benefit from promoting Social Media related Friendship links.
We have created a Scotch 82 facebook album that specifically helps to address this option for open communication that all our Classmates can contribute to (see this album here -> https://www.facebook.com/pg/Scotch1982/photos/?tab=album&album_id=1157872291010804).
Part B "Pastoral Care" looks at how Scotch 82 Classmates have had numerous great ideas about how a facebook page might look, and how we might best encourage each other to go about Caring for and Supporting each other. From a Pastoral Care perspective, some of us would like a Dependent, Independent, and Interdependent approach towards the Scotch Family!

From the direct experience we've had since 2012, and by taking a Prototyping Approach (with Milestones), we've identified a need for some Scotch 82 Guidelines in the form of a facebook album on our Scotch 82 facebook page (see above), as well as Scotch 82 Support album, which contains our Scotch Questions and Answers, in the form of a blog.

For those Classmates seeking to have a more Interdependent perspective of Pastoral Care within the Scotch Family, Scotch 82 Social Media provides a great way to link what is happening around the OSCA Affiliated Clubs scene, and our Scotch 82 facebook page is available to Like OSCA Affiliated Clubs, as well as Classmates business pages.

Equal Admin Opportunities
Egalitarian Leadership has been an important consideration to help bring together Equal Admin Opportunities for all. Information sharing is one such aspect of Leadership that has needed addressing, and a Social Media approach to sharing what is of importance to our year, helps those taking up leadership opportunities to be better informed, and act with a great breath of Classmate input.
If nothing else, better Information sharing has lead to a greater sense of empowerment, and therefore better informed decision making by those who want to be involved in helping to get a 40 Year Reunion Invitation to as many of our Classmates as possible (and hopefully everyone)!
SCOTCH 82 ANALYTICS CONTINUED,
PART A - FRIENDSHIPS
From the beginning, Scotch 82 Social Media, primarily using our facebook website/page, has sort to assist the development of friendships within our Year Group, as well as friendly relations with OSCA, Scotch College, and The Scotch Family at a community level.
A friendship approach falls inline with stated OSCA Long-term Pastoral Care Objectives and Short-term OSCA Strategic Plans, found in each of OSCA's Annual Reports on OSCAnet.com.au (link -> https://oscanet.com.au/#annualreports), starting with OSCA Strategy 2012-13, highlight below.

Doug Lording, OSCA President for two years running, makes mention in his "President's Report" for 2017, that OSCA's Strategy for Pastoral Assistance, as a goal of the OSCA Life Transitions Program, may also be indicative of a continuation of "friend-raising" (if the 2015-16 Annual Report was available to quote), from previous year's OSCA Strategies.
As quoted above, Doug Lording, as President of OSCA, encouraged the OSCA Council to "understand our relationship with the Old Boys outside those with strong links to OSCA", and Scotch 82 has been successful in bringing attention to the needs of Old Boys in our year with posts to our Scotch 82 facebook page, as well as posts to OSCA's facebook page.
Unfortunately, it can not be said with certainty that posts and/or messages to OSCA's facebook page, on behalf of our year, have been received with the stated intent to "understand" those who don't have a strong link, nor desire to!
Nevertheless, where messages or posts have been deleted, or misplaced, persistent efforts have been made to ensure that Representation for Scotch 82 Classmates has continued via other Communication Avenues.
On a more positive note, OSCA's Social Media communications have continued to improve since 2012, and this has received a boast within our year by seeking to improve Friendships through facebook Groups. Old Boys Supporting each other's friendships includes being aware that Men's Health, and addressing Mental Health stigma, is enhanced by the Scotch Family openly tackling these difficult topic via Social Media.
Quantifying the positive effects on our year's Friendships, using our Scotch 82 Social Media friend-raising initiatives, is perhaps best illustrated by the number of our Classmates who willing participate in having their Social Media profile made publicly accessible to other classmates.
To date, this includes approximately 145 Classmates using facebook, 122 using linkedIn, as well as many others who use Instagram. Of those using these Social Media platforms, there is a significant number who use multiple platforms for friendship purposes.
On average, that equates to Classmates Reconnecting with atleast one and often many others (in addition to long-standing peer group related friendships), since we left Scotch College, in 1982. Furthermore, those who have stated their unwillingness to re-establish a relationship with OSCA and/or Scotch College, are also represented in those who remain in contact, or continue their friendships, with their Classmates from our School days.
Doug Lording's Presidential statement that: "We estimate that there are about 2500 Old Boys with strong links to OSCA and the school, and in a way, our core business has revolved around this group. This group largely supports our clubs and societies, branches, reunions and events, and we are striving to increase involvement in these activities." (see Annual Report 2016-17), implies that those with strong links with our year are also being heavily relied upon to provide feeback, although this is not directly stated.
Supporting Friendships on Social Media, so that they are not overly strained by a lack of how OSCA and the Scotch Family 'works', especially by those seeking to promote stronger links, means Year Group Social Media initiatives must also be taken seriously and given priority by OSCA, and not just the current Young Old Boys initiatives.
Scotch 82's Social Media friend-raising, leading up to our next 10 Year Reunion, in 2022, will continue to include encouraging Classmates to speak-up and provide feedback to OSCA directly, as well as via a Like Comment Share approach on Social Media platforms.
Perhaps OSCA need to make a greater effort to understand how those within our year who do not have "strong links" to OSCA, and who don't engage with OSCA's "core business", might want to keep their reasons confidential, but use Social Media for their Pastoral Care needs.
PART B - PASTORAL CARE
OSCA RECOGNIZES NEED FOR SOCIAL MEDIA SITES
"Great ways to connect through the virtual community
In today’s busy and interconnected world, OSCA recognises the value to the Scotch Family of a virtual community through OSCAnet and other social media platforms such as Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and YouTube.
By connecting through one or all of these channels, you will be able to keep track of all things OSCA and stay in touch with friends and other alumni." Great Scot April 2015.

OSCA & AFFILIATED CLUBS FACEBOOK PAGES
Below is a sample of some the facebook pages (or groups) that our Scotch Family now has access too. Social Media Platforms and related websites allow our Classmates to provide feedback on Posts that are of interest to them directly to these clubs. It is up to Clubs to help provide OSCA with Social Media feedback, if OSCA seeks to make stronger friendships within the Scotch Family.
SCOTCH 82 LIKES SCOTCH FAMILY SOCIAL MEDIA SITES
Above is all the (current) Likes that our Scotch 82 facebook page has made. Some of the facebook pages Liked include Social Media platforms used by our Classmates, as well as facebook pages belonging to Classmates who have shown interest in our year supporting their Businesses page, and vice-a-versa.
With the initiation of OSCA's "Trust" Principle in 2016, Scotch 82 has moved from taking an Independent approach, to now seeking to take a greater Interdependent approach, via Scotch 82 Analytics, within the Scotch Family and with OSCA's Strategic Planning in mind.
Since 2012, Pastoral Care of Year Groups, between Reunions, has been widely perceived within our year to be a function of (Honourary) OSCA Representatives, and for our year that fell to Mike Poynter. It's a widely held view that Mike communicated with our Year Group via the existing Scotch Family virtual community resources available to him, prior to this role being reviewed, in 2013.
It's also viewed that Mike, as our OSCA Representative, perform the responsibilities assigned to him with dedication, sincerity, and with a look to help promote improved relationships with OSCA for those how do not have strong links. Mike needs to be congratulated for doing his best to, and we honour him for taking the initiative to give his approval for using Social Media as a form of extended Pastoral Care to help with OSCA's Stated Long and Short Term Objectives.
Scotch 82 Social Media initiatives, like promoting and assisting Friendship links online, face to face opportunities have also been considered an important aspect of promoting reconnecting within our year, in the lead up to our 40 Year Reunion, "The Big One".
Our 30 Year Invitation listed 61 Classmates who OSCA have asked Mike Poynter and our Reunion Committee to help find contact information for, and then pass on to OSCA's Events Manager. To date, approximately half of these "missing" Classmates have been reconnected with our year using Social Media, since 2012, and a further number have friendship links.
Annual Get-togethers have also proven to be a great way to promote face to face friendships building with those who have already been to previous reunions, for those who haven't been to a Reunion.
Social Media friendships links have been further enhanced by other peer-group related friendships being establish also. This dynamic was something Social Media platforms were heavily criticized as not being effective at achieving (even publicly by the Presbyterian Church Leadership), in 2012, but we decided to keep our Social Media conversation going anyway!

Finding a Social Media Pastoral Care happy medium has taken a considerable amount of time and effort, and has been greatly assisted by our Classmates collaborating with OSCA (where possible) to create two facebook albums in particular, called: "Scotch 82 Guidelines" and "Scotch 82 Support".

With the sharing of the information contained in these albums openly on Social Media, it's been proven possible to promote a greater level of confidence in understanding how the Scotch Family works, as well as achieving more realistic Expectations of what our Social Media initiatives might set about achieving, from a Pastoral Care perspective.
Furthermore, Scotch 82 Classmates are curious, ask Questions and expect Answers!
Using Social Media, we have adopted the approach that if one person has a questions, then it's highly likely they are not the only one who would like to know the answer to that question, and so sharing via a blog helps address this need for creator intra-year network building.
Using Social Media, we have adopted the approach that if one person has a questions, then it's highly likely they are not the only one who would like to know the answer to that question, and so sharing via a blog helps address this need for creator intra-year network building.
Our "Scotch 82 Q & A" blog makes it possible for our Classmates to share information about what other Classmates are thinking, and that includes those who do not have "strong links" to OSCA. It's highly probable that those who do have strong links can become more informed, and Social Media is a good way to communicate what OSCA is seeking to understand.
OSCA's (Honourary) Chaplain, Graham Bradbeer, has been a great source of encouragement, and has bought an additional level of Confidence that comes with having a Chaplaincy Social Media Pastoral Care Influence. If communication with Graham, and/or intra-year, is pushed to become less open, then that is a decision for our Classmates, and is beyond Scotch 82 Analytics to try to proscribe.
Grahams influence has also included practical face to face Care and Support, as well as input into the planning of our face to face Annual Get-togethers. Graham he has made himself available to communicate using Social Media's private messaging - another indicator of confidence that Social Media could be an integral part of OSCA's "core business" strategic planning, and/or add further potential to OSCA's Life Transitions objectives, if funding by OSCA Collegians is directed that way.
In addition to Scotch 82 Social Media initiatives, there are numerous examples of Old Boy Year Groups caring for and supporting each other using facebook pages and groups, as well as other Social Media platforms. It is not within the scope of Scotch 82 Analytics (2018) to elaborate further on the success (or otherwise) of these independent (to Scotch 82) Scotch Family initiatives.
PART C - EGALITARIANISM
Since commencing Posts in 2012, perhaps the best possible Egalitarian approach to using Social Media would be based directly on feedback from our Classmates, via the posts they individual create, or indirectly via what Classmates have Liked, Commented on, and/or Shared. Unfortunately, our facebook page got hacked, and Classmates Posts' could not be identified as to who they were coming from, or if the intent was to cause our year, and the Scotch Family, undue grief.
This lead to the need to for a revised Equal Opportunity for Classmates to be heard, especially those who do not have strong links with OSCA's core business activities, however, with the Anonymity factor no longer assured, due to the need to reduce the potential of being hacked, Classmates have had to give up some of the ease of a dynamic where everyone is able to Post, all at once, as Scotch 82.
Additionally, in the last few years, the Old Scotch Collegians' Association has vetted Posts on their facebook page, and therefore it is not as easy for Classmates to find an opportunity to look at OSCA's Strategic Planning Leadership, and publicly address their need for a "Dependent, Independent, or Interdependent" Social Media Alignment, with Scotch Family discussions.
![]() |
| image -> https://www.ccl.org/leadership-solutions/leadership-culture/ |
It's also very plausible that when OSCA's current 2015 to 2020 Strategic Plan is reviewed in 2020, OSCA will have enough feedback to initiate changes in the generational beliefs about the effectiveness of Social Media for engaging the next generation of Old Boys.
A good question to attempt to answer might be: "Does OSCA need to move from a Social Media Prototyping to a more in depth Systems Analysis Development approach, across the board?"
To help address this question, in the short to medium term, we also now have Young Alumni using Social Media.
Although in it's early stages, the YOBs facebook page and Committee Approach will invariably help with generational change in beliefs about the good, the bad, and the ugly of Social Media, or how best year groups might get involved, as Doug Lording, Past OSCA President, highlighted in his President report for year 2015-16.
Adopts aspects of our year's 1982 General House Committee format, like being able to Propose and Second ideas for discussion, which leads to action being taken on and Proposals, allows for Classmates to Speak Up and be heard! Perhaps a new OSCA Constitution will help address this functionality and Social Media platform formatting too.
"AND" SOCIAL MEDIA, NOT EITHER OR!!
New kinds of communication platforms take time to adjust to, and it would be fair to say Social Media, or perhaps in particular a facebook page, with Equal Opportunities, has proved a challenge for some of our year to get use to.
Incremental adjustments allow for our year and Scotch Family to gain benefits from taking an "AND" approach towards including Social Media, rather than an "EITHER OR" approach towards already accepted longer term Communication mediums. Scotch Family Egalitarianism, looking to the future, may mean Communication/Engagement capabilities and growth will keep changing from generation to generation, as it was only about 50 years ago a Glossy Magazine, Great Scot, was introduced.
Scotch 82's Christopher Havre, in writing for the December OSCA eNews letter, described how he used an "AND" approach, by incorporating Social Media, the OSCA website, and the old school network assisting with the "Scotch VIII 19814th Crew Reunion" taking shape recently (see Scotch 82 post below and http://ap.ptly.com/API/Communication.aspx?mode=showMessage&site=vic%2Fscotch&item_id=330620_mhtgg&dbid=72158&fbclid=IwAR2zYOZz1Zy3wGD6TpF4nvhnbpc_OO-1ZfbQjGSOir1Ue3-iszi_jFhZ-t0#1544506409205).

SO MANY GREAT IDEAS!!
To ensure everyone gets a fair chance to be heard, and that all the great ideas are available for Classmates to think about or perhaps request Action be taken on, we've needed a way to adapt to all the input, and ideas.
Our Scotch 82 Classmates' Expectations of what we can achieve as a year using Social Media has been mostly related to our facebook Pages and Groups. Our "Scotch 82 Analytics & Posting Guide" encourages Classmates to take a look at Post Results achieved, since 2012, and this can be assisted with the help of our End of Year Wraps, some of which highlight Most Liked Post, each year.
Our Scotch 82 End of Year Wraps have also provided other insights that have helped to shape the direction changes we've need to make in response to happenstance influences, as Prototyping is good at allowing for. It's possible that other Social Media Platforms are a better fit for our year, or perhaps group formats that are less public will replace our Scotch 82 facebook page, looking to the future.
One thing is for sure, as long as Scotch 82 Classmates keep speaking up, and can be more engaged with our greater Scotch Family, then Australian and Scottish Egalitarianism, by virtue of greater numbers being involved on an Equal Footing, is more likely to produce a greater sense of Equality than if Voices are not being heard, are not easily Understood, or are not being given Representation because of the current Core Business Activities are not broad enough.

SCOTCH 82 YEAR GROUP EMOTIONAL REACTIONS TO POSTS
As Mark Zuckerberg (co-founder and CEO of facebook) put it on February 25th, 2016:
"Not every moment you want to share is happy. Sometimes you want to share something sad or frustrating.
Our community has been asking for a dislike button for years, but not because people want to tell friends they don't like their posts.
People wanted to express empathy and make it comfortable to share a wider range of emotions."
With greater Classmate participation since 25th of February, 2016, it's become clear that one person can no longer be 100% accurate at Gauging the Emotional Reaction of our year to the Subject/Topic of our Scotch 82 Posts!!
Therefore, having a Reaction is probably now best left to each individual Classmate, if you chose to, instead of the Equal Admin Posting the Post to try to Gauge one single Emotional Reaction of our Year as a whole.
YOU'RE THE VOICE - NO LONGER ANONYMOUS
A lesson learned from our Transitional Scotch College Class of 1982 facebook page is that it's best to Post as ourselves, rather than Anonymously, but to ensure this happened, Scotch 82 need to Reformatted to included Guidelines.
Alternatively, Classmates can post as them-self in the Visitors Post Section, and this can be shared to our Scotch 82 Wall. The use of hashtags is another option that was identified to assist with identifying who Posted what for public discussion.
When posting as an Equal Admin, we now add our Highlighted Name (our personal profile name), by preceding it with an "@", then by selecting our name that appears in a pop-up list.
Having our Name at the end of our Scotch posts removes any confusion as to who is posting, and lessens the likelihood of us being hacked again.

SCOTCH 82 SUPPORTS BUILDING BRIDGES THROUGH WORLDVIEW ACCEPTANCE, DISCUSSIONS & INFORMATION SHARING POSTS
Scotch Family Equal Opportunity means each Classmates may be able to have their needs meet Independently of a Christian approach, and therefore by connecting with other liked minded Classmates on our facebook page, or in groups, there really is no need to protest individual Classmates Worldviews, who are also seeking to connect and make new friends, using Social Media.
Early Posts on our Scotch 82 facebook page, and in groups, revealed that a far amount of healthy disagreement can be accepted by taking a Philosophical approach to each other's Worldviews, rather than perhaps a one Theology fits all approach.
Expectations by those Classmates that they are directly protesting OSCA, and our Scotch Family, as well as any perceived bias for Pastoral Care and Support, has been one of the aspects of Prototyping that has lead to better discussions with OSCA, and the new OSCA (Honourary) Chaplain, about what kind of Pastoral Care might be expected.
THEREFORE, in the instance where Scotch Family and/or OSCA Pastoral Care and Support contact is needed by those wanting to take an Independent of Christianity approach, our Scotch 82 facebook page really needs to be considered a Secondary Source of Information Only, and more Information needs to reach those who fear their Worldview is not being Represented at Core Business Activities.
As knowledge has slowly grown within our year, since 2012, of what Pastoral Care & Support can realistically be expect from our facebook page, Posts have needed to reflect our Classmates struggles!
BUT contact with OSCA, Scotch College, and our larger Scotch Family's Social Media and Virtual Community resources needs to be directly made by Classmates, and hence getting upset or abusive with anyone who is Volunteering is counter-productive.

Scotch 82 Social Media since it's inception, following our 30 Year Reunion, in 2012, has had input from Graham Bradbeer in both of his roles as the Scotch Chaplain, and as our OSCA (Honourary) Chaplain, and someone who is understanding of Atheist, and other Worldview Chaplaincy needs, in addition to Christian Chaplaincy.
Whilst we have been exploring Scotch Family Pastoral Care, as it relates to 21st Century Chaplaincy Services, Graham has taken a philosophical, upfront, honest, inclusive, and transparent approach towards how he can help our year with Supporting each other, including getting along to our next 10 Year Reunion, in 2022.
For a more comprehensive look at how our OSCA (Honourary) Chaplain describes his experience of providing Scotch Family Pastoral Care, please follow the link to this Great Scot Article -> https://www.scotch.vic.edu.au/greatscot/2014sepgs/65a.htm?fbclid=IwAR3Qj5Eq8ooT1DWfsFvHz-p_BZX2ZISAN_jdgOq8DWUCE4L1dCHnfYsImhY

The Old Scotch Collegians's Association facebook page -> https://www.facebook.com/oldscotchboys/ helps to illustrate the close (Symbiotic) relationship our Old Boy Network has with Scotch College's Master Plan and Vision of our Principle, Tom Batty.
"Deo, Patriae, Litteris" is needed to have a good showing in the way Posts are thought about, as our Scotch Family's motto has long provided, especially when it comes to reflecting on Core Values.
In 2019, our Scotch 82 facebook page will start to reflect a more OSCA "One Voice" approach towards some of these Categories and Core Values, and therefore our Social Media posts will reflect the Take-up OSCA Posts have shown more recently, in the above Categories marked with an asterisk ("*").
2019 will be a year for sharing more OSCA's posts, from the above Categories, as a way of helping Scotch 82 to be further involved in providing Social Media feedback.

Hopefully, the OSCA facebook page will help further reflect Australian Egalitarian Categories that we have traditionally held dear as Scotch Family Egalitarianism, too, as we head into 2019, and with the help of feedback in the form of Like Comment Share!

OSCA ARTICLES OF ASSOCIATION IN 2019
OSCA have started a comprehensive review of the Articles of Association, and it is expected that a Constitution will be reviewed at the 2019 Annual General Meeting.
Having an OSCA Constitution may provide a more comprehensive guide as to how Social Media, Pastoral Care, and 10 Year Reunions connect with our Scotch Family lives, and how it may be possible to provide greater feedback to OSCA about Individuals' as well as Year Group needs.
OSCA Collegians, who are providing OSCA with funding for significant "Core Business" Activities, may have undertaken a review of Year Group Annual Get-togethers, in addition to OSCA YOBs Get-togethers, and may be open to funding a review of how more people might be able to attend reunions.
Therefore a Request has been made for Clarification from our OSCA Senior Vice President, Andrew Wilson, our OSCA (Honourary) Chaplain, Graham Bradbeer, and our OSCA Executive Director, Scott Montgomery on whether or not Year Group Get-togethers is something OSCA Collegians will be encouraging in years to come.
For further thoughts or points for discussion, please see the

SCOTCH 82 ANALYTICS & POSTING GUIDE CONCLUSION
It will be featured, and linked, in our Scotch 82 2018 End of Year Wrap, which is sent to each of our Classmate's using Social Media, that we've been able to (re-)connect with, so far.
It may prove prudent to draw intermediate conclusions after first giving this (Draft) Posting Guide a 12 months trail period, say during 2019, where further feed back may be gained and analyzed, where possible!
yours sincerely,
Michael Arnott
